Our History in Depth

In 1998, David Dahan realized that there was a lack of upscale kosher catering in Washington, D.C., and decided to enter the market. A native of the culinary world, David applied his French training and Moroccan heritage to the creation of innovative kosher cuisine. Since his arrival in the Washington market, David has set a new standard for kosher cuisine and has catered events all over the Washington area, including events at top hotels and a full-scale dinner in the State Room of the White House.

David Dahan is a true connoisseur of diversity. At Dahan Caterers events, you can enjoy everything from sushi to a tagine of lamb, and everything in between. David and his staff continue to evolve, adding new influences and setting trends with their innovative creations. Dahan Caterers has proved to be the best kosher catering company in the Washington metropolitan area.

Prior to the opening of Dahan Caterers, David and his family lived in a small suburb of San Francisco. There, David owned a restaurant, La Chaumière, and was manager of one of the largest hotels in San Francisco, the Stanford Court. David also worked closely with Maurice Rouas at the restaurant Fleur de Lys. These experiences helped him to interpret kosher cuisine in delicious new ways.
